Letter: "Volunteers honored the fallen" Printed May 18, 2007
Editor:
The employees of the Thomas Room banquet facility in South Portland thank the local businesses and volunteers who made it possible to show our appreciation for the families of Lance Cpl. Angel Rosa and Sgt. Jason Swiger during their time of mourning.
The reception for both events included an outpouring of support for the soldiers by the people of our community. The following is a list of the businesses and donors who made both receptions possible:
Broadway Variety, Sysco Distributors, Rite Thyme Café, Shaw’s, Hannaford, General Linen, Mister Bagel Mill Creek, Market Fresh Produce, Espo’s, National Distributors, Pine State Distributors, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, JP Thornton’s Olive Garden, Pizza Joint, South Portland House of Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Saltwater Grille, South Portland Amato’s, Dipietro’s Market, One Stoppe Party Shop, South Portland Domino’s, Michaud Distributors, Campbell’s Market, Joe’s Boathouse, Embassy Suites, Anania’s, Broadway GettyMart, French’s Cakes, Frito Lay, Broadway Gardens and Absolutely Complete Property Services.
We would like to extend a special thank you to The Maine Patriot Guard for their support at the funeral services; Rose Worchester and John Wright for volunteering their services during both receptions; Paul Nixon, Curt Burrill and Nate Hjort who volunteered to pick up items that were donated; Kevin Battle and Laura Burrill for helping set up both receptions and the countless other individuals that were on hand during both receptions.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of both soldiers and our thanks are with all service men, service women and their families.
