Editorial: We need you – (Printed Feb. 8, 2008)
The South Portland-Cape Elizabeth Sentry together
with the Scarborough Leader is planning its annual Community Guide for
the end of March and we need your help.
We need to make sure your non-profit organization or event is included.
The guide will be distributed to all of the residents of South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough in the March 28 issues of the Sentry and the Leader. There will also be copies available at various locations throughout the year.
The goal of the guide is to list all the things you need to know to get around the community. This includes such things as:
• Annual events
• Churches
• Clubs and organizations
• Government
• History
• How to use the libraries and what is offered
• Medical services
• Parks and recreation areas
• Schools
• Services for senior citizens
• Sports events
In order to make sure the guide is as inclusive as possible, we need you to contact us about your events and organizations.
We want to have the best guide possible so that it’s a good reference for everyone in the community.
It’s a great opportunity to feature your non-profit group or organization. If people have lived here all their lives, it might remind them of all that is available. If a person is new to the area, this should be essential.
To contact the Sentry or the Leader, please call Colleen Marshall at 282-4337 ext. 229. Emailed submissions can be sent to news@inthesentry.com. Please include “Community Guide” in the subject line.
The deadline for copy is March 14.
