Letter: Rep. Bliss sees the ‘whole jigsaw puzzle’ (May 30, 2008)

Editor:
The other day I was looking at Web sites of candidates running for office this year. Larry Bliss, who is running for State Senate has a site full of good information.
I already expected to vote for Larry as I am familiar with him from his years of work as a State Representative.  I am impressed with both his ethics and with the way he comes at problems to be solved. He looks to see the whole jigsaw puzzle and how the pieces need to fit.
Anyway, Larry Bliss has been the chairman of the Utilities and Energy Committee of the Legislature. I noticed that his experience there led him to introduce a bill last year to help protect individual insurance purchasers from excessive rate increases. This bill enabled the Office of Public Advocate – who argues on behalf of the ordinary citizen whenever there are requests for utility rate changes – to deal with insurance issues as well.
Now I am sure I want to vote Larry Bliss into the State Senate. He works for me and for the many others in his district like me.
