Letter: Bliss has vision, drive (June 6, 2008)

Editor:
I am pleased to support Larry Bliss as the Democratic candidate in Maine’s Senate District 7, which includes parts of Scarborough, and all of South Portland and Cape Elizabeth. I have worked with Larry in many capacities and feel he would do an outstanding job in Augusta if elected to this position.
During his eight years in Maine’s House of Representatives, Larry has put people first, sponsoring numerous consumer protection laws, civil rights legislation and programs to help all Maine citizens, not just a few. He is a strong supporter of small businesses and in improving the Maine economy and holds meaningful tax reform in the next legislative session as a priority.
Larry is a champion for K-12 and higher education and has worked to secure millions of dollars in education funding to our communities above the governor’s original budgets.
Larry has the vision and drive to represent the residents of Senate District 7 well in the coming term. Please support Larry Bliss in the Democratic primary on June 10.
John Walker, former chairman
Cape Elizabeth Democratic Committee
