Letter: South Portland potholes too much (Dec. 5, 2008)
Editor:
I hate driving in South Portland because there are so many potholes on the road. Every time when I am getting ready to drive to school I am always nervous because I know I am going to hit potholes on the way from Saco to South Portland. The potholes give me such big headache. Once, I hit a pothole at the speed limit of 35 miles per hour. I bent one of my left side wheels and then I had to fix it with my own money. The story is not over yet. One night, I was driving. I was swerving around on the road; I was not drunk or tired. The reason I did that was because of the potholes. When I had almost arrived at my house, I got pulled over by the police. He said he pulled me over because I was swerving around on the road, and he thought I was drunk. I told him that I was not drunk at all, but I am just trying to avoid the potholes. After he checked my driver license, he let me go. The point is the potholes. I don’t know what’s going on this year. Where does the tax money go?
