Letter: Letter writer missed the point (Jan. 30, 2009)

Editor:

I believe that BL Beal [In a letter published in the Jan. 23 issue of the Sentry] has missed the point completely! Everyone is in agreement that the maintenance to the house at 553 Shore Road is an improvement. No one has said that the owner isn’t a long time resident of Cape Elizabeth or isn’t well respected.

What we all object to is the expansion of the business zone into a densely populated residential area; and, the increased noise and other unacceptable issues that are associated with it. If I had known that BL Beal had such an interest I would have gladly called them the nights I was awakened by people on the side porch of 553 Shore Road – well after midnight.

Interestingly enough, the description of BL Beal’s property has more of a buffer than we would if a business moved into 553 Shore Road.
